In this page, you’ll find all the information needed for your first mock-up Interview.

💡 What is this?

Masterschool's goal is to provide students with all the support to secure their first job in the tech industry. Teaching the right technical material is essential, but is not enough; mastering the skill of passing job interviews is a major part of securing a first job.

During the core part of our training, each student will conduct between 3-5 mock interviews.

This month we’ll begin this preparation with our first live mock interview.

💻 Why do we conduct mock interviews?

Taking part in mock interviews will help you:

  • Practice your interviewing skills - learn how to do it right and start gaining confidence.
  • Experience what it's like to speak about code, explain concepts and even code live.
  • Check your skills in a real-life scenario, which will help you fine-tune your learning journey.

Mock interviews are essential for you to understand your level and proficiency and will also help us determine the right learning track and entry role for you to focus on in later parts of the program.

🗯 What will happen during the first interview?

  • Your mentor will conduct the interview via Zoom.
  • The session will last 20-25 minutes.
  • During the interview, you will present your work in one of the exercises (only ones you’ve completed):
    • Project part 2
    • Titanic
    • Project part 1
    • For fast track - Zootopia / Zootopia w/ API
  • You will be asked questions about your code, programming concepts, and a few general questions as well.

❓ Example Questions

💬 Will I get feedback about the interview?

  • Of course! Feedback is how we get better, and it will help you improve for the next time.
  • Your mentor will share a short feedback a few days after the interview.
  • Also, in your next reflective report meeting with your mentor, you will discuss the interview and other aspects of your learning journey.
